Noted poet Fazil Kashmiri remembered

JAMMU: A two-day national-level centenary seminar on noted poet and scholar Fazil Kashmiri concluded at the KL Saigal Hall here on Monday.

A two-day national-level centenary seminar on noted poet and scholar Fazil Kashmiri concluded at the KL Saigal Hall here on Monday.

The seminar organised by the National Akademi of Letters, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, was attended by a galaxy of scholars representing various parts of the country.

Inaugurating the seminar, convener of the Kashmiri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Aziz Hajni said the best way of paying tributes to our legendary poets and scholars was to ensure the preservation and promotion of our mother tongue Kashmiri.

The inaugural session was presided over by famous poet and writer Bashir Bhadrawahi. The keynote address of the seminar was presented by Farooq Fayaz.

In the session was presided over by PN Trisal, three papers were presented by Nabi Atish, BN Betab and Syed Iftikhar. In the post-lunch session, papers written by Prof Taskeena Fazil, Prof Ab Jabar and Wali Muhammad Aseer were presented. The session was presided over by Farooq Nazki.

After the each session, there was a thought-provoking discussion about the content and approach of the papers presented by the scholars.
