Truce violation in Tangdhar

SRINAGAR: Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) at Tangdhar sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.

Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) at Tangdhar sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.

Officials said Pakistan resorted to unprovoked heavy firing on forward posts in Tangdhar sector around 8 pm. “The Army is retaliating the firing,” defence officials said. There was no immediate report of any casualties on this side so far. The heavy exchange of fire continued till the filing of this report. The ceasefire violation has taken place at a time when the country is celebrating the second anniversary of surgical strikes. — TNS
