Urdu poetry book released
Jammu, April 14
Governor NN Vohra released “Aansuoon Ke Chinaab,” a volume of Urdu poetry written by Suneeta Raina, a promising poetess, at a function held at Raj Bhawan here.
The book contains a collection of ghazals on varied subjects, such as women empowerment, contemporary issues, yearning of Kashmiri Pandits for their homeland, and growing intolerance in society.
Preemi Romani, Khalid Hussain and Dr Irfan Arif made brief observations, which reflected on the high quality of Raina’s verses.
The Governor complimented Raina for her meaningful poetic reflections on various important issues facing society and giving soulful expression to the pain of Kashmiri Pandits who had been rendered homeless. He urged Raina and other writers to continue their endeavours for enriching and propagating Urdu language. —TNS
