Zain Khan Durrani — a youth from the Kashmir valley — is all set to make his Bollywood debut as the lead in a film titled ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’.
Produced by ‘Yoodlee Films, the movie has been directed by National Award-winning director Onir and is scheduled to be released across the country on February 16.
Durrani hopes that the movie will encourage other youth of the Valley to pursue their dreams or look for a career in films.
“There is a lot of talent in Kashmir but we need opportunities. We are capable enough. I hope my work encourages other youth,” Durrani said over the phone from Mumbai.
Durrani hails from the Bagh-e-Mehtab area of Srinagar. He did his schooling from Burn Hall School, Srinagar, and later completed his B.Com from Delhi University.
He said he had been living in Mumbai for the past two and a half years and had bagged the role after an audition.
“The film revolves around an RJ (Durrani) who plays retro music on his show and narrates heart-breaking love stories. The movie is based on social networking relations of the present times,” Durrani said.
