Vasundhara to head state commission for women
Srinagar, July 9
The State Administrative Council (SAC), headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik, on Monday accorded sanction to the appointment of Vasundhara Pathak Masoodi as chairperson of the J&K State Commission for Protection of Women and Child Rights.
With her appointment, the commission would start functioning and address various issues relating to the violation of rights of women and children. A lawyer, Vasundhara is also a women and child rights activist.
Employment for migrants
Selections have been made for 2,905 of the 3,000 posts of various categories by the department of disaster management, relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction regarding employment for Kashmiri migrants. The posts were created under the Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Package for Kashmiri migrants in 2010. —TNS
