Shri Atma Nand Jain School Committee, a charitable organisation engaged in education, celebrated the 147th birth anniversary of Shrimad Vijay Vallabh Surishwar Ji Maharaj at SAN Jain School. Acharya Vijay Vallabh Suri was a Jain monk. He is also known as Punjab Kesari. He was a disciple of Vijayanandsuri. He worked for the religious as well as social life of the people. He worked actively in Punjab. This annual function of four educational institutions (three schools and one college) was celebrated in the presence of Gachhadipati Jain Acharya Shrimad Vijay Dharam Dhurinder Suri Ji Maharaj along with Sadhus and Sadhvis. The function was a fusion of various cultural and religious items that were performed by students of all four educational institutions. Punjabi folk dance, solo dance, group songs, one – act plays, bhand and histrionics were the highlight of the day. —TNS
