49-year-old pilot from city dies in Mumbai plane crash

The co-pilot of the chartered plane that crashed in Mumbai on Thursday, Pardeep Rajput , hailed from Jalandhar.

The 49-year-old was a resident of Model Town here and had graduated from DAV College in 1989. He also remained an NCC cadet and took training from the Northern India Flying Club in the Jalandhar Cantonment. He even got a commercial pilot licence in 1990.

Ranbir Singh, CEO, and president of GNA Axles, said: “Pardeep Rajput worked as a PRO for our company for about five years after which he joined private chartered services and moved with his family to New Delhi. His father was a ground engineer with the British Airways.”
