Accused in Delhi kidney racket brought on production warrant

An accused in the Delhi kidney racket has been brought on production warrant by the Jalandhar police.

He was produced in a court which remanded him two days police custody. The accused had sold his kidney at National Kidney Hospital by becoming a fake donor. He had shown himself as the relative of the recipient. Now, the police will inquire if the accused was also a part of the Jalandhar kidney racket or not.

The accused has been identified as Satya Parkash, alias Ashu Trivedi, alias Vicky, a resident of Gujan Vihar, Kanpur, Uttar Pardesh.

As per the police records, he had sold his kidney to Mohamad Asim of Om Nagar, Kanpur, by showing himself as Tariq Sadiqui. The recipient had however died after four days of the transplant. On March 25, the police had filed second chargesheet in the court against 17 persons, including four doctors of National Kidney Hospital. —TNS
