Following the incident in Goraya where a hotel owner leveled allegations against DSP Phillaur for not making the payment of food bills, a protest was held till midnight. BSP leaders today threatened that if action was not taken against the DSP and three others police officials, they would launch a massive stir against the police.
Muthada Kalan sarpanch and a BSP leader Kranti, who led the protest yesterday outside the Goraya police station, said they were assured by a senior police official that action would be taken against DSP Phillaur, SHO Goraya, ASI Gyan Kishore and one constable.
Kranti said the DSP had not made the payment of food bills and later he leveled fake allegations that hotel RC Plaza was serving liquor and allowing the youth to indulge in gambling.
DSP Phillaur Ashwani Attri had however denied the allegation and alleged that he had paid the bills. He said he had noticed youth having liquor and gambling on a snooker table following which hotel owner exchanged arguments.
Notably, the BSP leaders of Goraya had sat on a dharna in front of the Goraya police station from 5:00 pm to 12:15 am.
