The MAC Forum of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, organised an AD-MAD SHOW, a competitive programme, wherein different teams sell innovative products through catchy advert trailers.  This platform gives an opportunity to students to tap into their imagination and creativity. This year, AD-MAD Show featured 12 teams humorously titled Chakme 420, Mian Pasha G, Rangeeley, 3G, Nacha De Maa etc. The judges for the competition were Vishal Sikka, general secretary, the Jalandhar Management Association, Sudhir Gera, director, Kiroskar Gensets Ltd and Dr Monika Mogla, head, the department of commerce of the college. The teams which bagged first, second and third prize were Chakme 420, Rangeeley and Mian Pasha G, respectively. 

District-level tournament

Kamla Nehru Public School, Chak Hakim, Phagwara participated in Kho-Kho tournament under-17 boys. The tournament was organised by the Punjab School Education Board at Nadala village, district Kapurthala. Kamla Nehru Public School boys’ team under-17 got runners-up trophy out of 12 teams participating from Kapurthala district. Principal PK Dhillon congratulated the winners.

Founder’s day celebrated

Ryan International School, Jalandhar, celebrated founder’s week to mark the birthday chairman Dr Augustine F Pinto. The week culminated with a charity and plantation ceremony. Various programmes were organised on the school premises like prayer dance, enactment, special birthday song and group song by the students.

IIMUN championship conference

As many as 12 delegates from MGN UE 2 , Jalandhar, attended IIMUN championship conference 2015 at Aamby Valley City, Lonavala , Maharashtra, from Aug 20 – Aug 23, attended by over 2,000 delegates at the international level from the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada and many more countries. The opening ceremony was presided over by Kiran Bedi. The evening was graced by eminent people like Vidya Balan, Ronnie Screwwala, Dr Subhash Chandra among others.
