Adarsh School reps meet minister
Jalandhar, August 16
A joint delegation of Government Adarsh Schools, headed by state president Gurjinder Pal Singh, met Education Minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema in connection with their demands.
The state president of the organisation of these schools demanded the regularisation for the services of Adarsh Schools’ staff and also allow their inter-school transfer.
Speaking on the occasion, the Education Minister assured that a solution to these problems shall soon be found. So far, the inter-departmental transfer of the staff of Adarsh and Model Schools were permitted, it was stated that from now on, teachers will be transferred only under their own cadres.
Notably, while Adarsh Schools come under the PEDB, Model Schools fall under RMSA. However, in 2011, inter-departmental transfer among the two departments had taken place. The teachers lay stress on the transfer of all teachers as there were no transfers in Adarsh Schools this year. They also stressed upon the need for promotions and regularisation.
He said a new policy shall be evolved for the transfer of the staff and the representatives of Adarsh Schools shall also be made a part of the committee.Speaking on the occasion, vice-president Charanjit Singh demanded promotions in jobs for the members of the union. The leaders also informed the Education Minister of the problems being faced by teachers under the PPP mode. — TNS
