The Deputy Commmissioner Isha Kalia has instructed the departments concerned to make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of Chintpurni fair.
For the convenience of langar committoratees during the fair, the district administration has started single window system at the SDM office (Room No 5) in Hoshiarpur, so that registration and permission facilities can be provided under one roof. Under the single window system, registration / approvals will be provided from 9 am to 6 pm.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Isha Kalia appealed that langar committees should get registration and approvals on priority basis.
Besides, mela control committees have been constituted to facilitate the pilgrims. The 16-km Chintpurni road, falling in the Hoshiarpur district has been divided into five sectors.
She said: “In five sectors, 10 members of the mela committee has been deployed.”
“ One Duty Magistrate and a DSP has been appointed in every sector. A member of the Guardian of Governance has been included in sector teams,” added. the DC
“For the smooth conduct of traffic, in coordination with the Deputy Commissioner, Una, the road to Mata Chintapurni from Hoshiarpur has been made one way from August 1 to 10 August. The pilgrims will travel from Hoshiarpur to Chintpurni via Gagret-Mubarakpur, while return journey will be from Chintpurni to Mubarakpur-Amb-Una and Hoshiarpur,” added the DC. She told that goods carrying vehicles have been banned for transporting people.
The DC said: “Such vehicles are being challaned and sent back from the entry point of Himachal Pradesh set-up near Asha Devi at Mangoowal barrier.” The Deputy Commissioner said: “Free bus service for pilgrims has also been provided at Mangoowal barrier, adding that with the help of administration of HRTC, arrangements of six buses have been made.”
She urged the pilgrims to ensure following the traffic rules and wear helmets if they travel on the bikes or scooters.
She appealed to the langar committees that leaf plates (pattals) should be used for the langar so that cleanliness can be ensured.
The Deputy Commissioner said: “The Mela Control Committee has also been constituted by the district administration, in which 25 GOGs have been deployed and 25 members of the langar committee will serve as volunteers.”
