Like previous years, this year too, the Punjab Government’s Animal Husbandry Department is holding milking and breeding contests of animals across various districts. The event will be held in Samrai Jandiala village in Phillaur at Sr Ujagar Singh Samra Sports Stadium on October 13 and 14.
In continuation of the district-level animal fairs, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has directed the department to hold such fairs across the state to encourage animal breeders. In the animal fair, bullocks, cows, goats, sheep, lambs, pigs, horses, dogs, hens, etc animals’ breeding contests shall be held.
Participants at the fair shall be told about the care of animals, the means to take care of them, their treatment, the feed, among other important aspects.
