In view of the dengue season, teams of the Health Department sprayed the anti-larval spray around the Civil Hospital, the Civil Surgeon’s office and adjoining areas here today.

While dengue is caused by the biting of the Aedis egypti mosquito, its larvae breed in standing clean and rainwater. Teams of the Health Department have been sending teams in the affected areas to prevent the breeding of this mosquito.

He laid stress on patients to approach the nearest health centre of if anyone had a seasonal fever or flu. Anti-larvae teams of the department had also carried spraying yesterday. Before that, the MC teams had also been carrying out fogging exercises in various areas of the city.
