Under the ‘Ek Ped Ek Zindagi’ campaign, the Army on Wednesday carried out a tree plantation drive at Suranasi where it planted around 5,000 saplings through its personnel and their families.

Children and the combatants planted shady, ornamental and fruit saplings. The plantation drive was initiated by Col Sandeep Sharma and other personnel. Trees will increase the greenery all around the area, besides improving the needs of shelter for birds and wild animals from the adjoining areas.

The initiative by the Army is noteworthy as it has been the biggest drive undertaken in the area. It reflects the awareness and motivation among the soldiers and their families.
