ASI Ranvir Singh to get President’s medal

ASI Ranvir Singh, the reader to SP (Headquarters) has been selected to be decorated with the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS) on Independence Day.

He is the native of Kot Dassandhi Mall village, under police station Jhabal in Tarn Taran. He did MA in (Police Administration) and LLB after joining the police in Oct 1989 as a constable. He has also received 89 commendation certificates, including those by DGP, IG, DIG and SSPs.

Ranvir told that he was keen to study but the family situation was not favourable so he had to quit studies after graduation and joined the police as a constable. He was promoted as Head Constable in 1993 and an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in 2006.

“After joining the service I kept my dream of higher education alive and did MA Police Admn from GNDU and LLB from Punjab University in 2013”, said Ranvir.

He was posted here as the reader to SP (Hq) in March 2019. He owed the credit of his success to his parents who motivated and facilitated him to do good in life, to the officers who guided him, especially SSP J Elanchezhian and SP Balbir Singh, on whose recommendation, he was awarded the medal.

“Dedication and diligence towards the service and duty pays and I am proud of this reward for my dedicated service,” he added.
