Bicycles distributed under Mai Bhago Scheme

General Secretary of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary today distributed 743 bicycles among girl students of Bara Pind village and Phillaur under the Mai Bhago Scheme of the Punjab Government.

“Under the Mai Bhago Scheme, 500 bicycles were given to girl students of Senior Secondary School for Girls, Phillaur, and 243 to the girls of Senior Secondary School for Girls, Bara Pind,” Chaudhary said.

He added that total 12,000 cycles would be distributed in Jalandhar district, of which 3,000 would be given to girl students of Phillaur.

Chaudhary said the Punjab Government was committed for the overall development of the state and the main focus was on education, health and infrastructure building.

While listing the achievements of the government, Chaudhary said under the Mai Bhago Scheme, girl students of Class XI and XII would be provided cycles free of cost, to enable them to reach their schools easily.

Meanwhile, at Kapurthala, Congress leader Rana Gurjit Singh declared that 3,602 cycles would be distributed among students under the Mai Bhago Scheme. He said at Government Senior Secondary School (girls), cycles had been distributed among 435 students.
