Biker killed in mishap on Damoria Bridge

A youth, Chetan Sharma, riding pillion on a motorcycle, was killed after the bike rammed into the railing on the Damoria bridge near the railway station late last night.

Goldy, who was driving the bike, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital here.

The deceased was a resident of Gopal Nagar.

Police sources said Chetan along with Goldy was heading home. When they reached the Damoria bridge, Goldy lost control over the bike, which rammed into the railing on the flyover.

In the mishap, Chetan sustained serious head injuries, while Goldy sustained minor injuries. Both remained lying on the flyover in a pool of blood. It was only after some time that passersby noticed the boys lying injured. They rushed them to the Civil Hospital where Chetan was declared brought dead.

Suspecting no foul play, the police initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.
