In an unprecedented move, BJP’s media co-convenor Bhagat Manohar Lal today resigned from his post. This happened after he entered into a conflict with BJP’s state secretary Vineet Joshi during the SAD-BJP core committee meet held today in the city.
Bhagat Manohar Lal said he along with seven others was made co-convenors by the party a few years ago. Another BJP leader Janardan Sharma was made media convenor of the BJP’s state unit, but few months back, Sharma was forced to resign from his post due to the ongoing conflict with Vineet Joshi who too handles media for the Punjab BJP. This enraged the co-convenors team as they were not given much work even during the Assembly elections.
“We wanted to ask the higher command as to what was our need if Vineet is handling everything from Chandigarh. Even during elections he was called here and was asked to hold all press conferences during the entire election period,” said Bhagat. He said while the party had a full-fledged team of media co-conveners, it was not utilising their services.
