Blood donation by doctors
Phagwara: A blood donation camp was organised by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Phagwara at the Civil Hospital to celebrate “Doctor’s Day” in association with Jaycee Phagwara Elite and the Inner Wheel Club. The father and son duo of Dr RS Nagpal and Dr Japsimran Nagpal set an example as they were among the 50 donors on the occasion. Other donor doctors included Dr GB Singh, Davinder Kaur, Sunil Verma, Japsimran Nagpal, Mamta Gautam, Romesh Arora, RS Nagpal, Amish Bhardwaj, Tushar Aggarwal, Saurav Saroch, Meenu Tandon, Anil Tandon. Senior physician Dr S Mahindra, Vijay Sharma, JS Virk inspired the people to join the noble cause. OC
Parking lot
A multi-storeyed parking lot would be completed here by July 31. MLA Som Prakash said Rs 8.60 crore would be spent on the lot in which 216 cars could be parked. Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had laid the foundation stone of the lot on June 21 last year. Residents of Phagwara and surrounding areas have been facing a lot of inconvenience in parking their vehicles here. OC
