Financially weak students of DAV College, Jalandhar, were benefited under the ‘Book Bank Scheme’, under which around 2,500 course textbooks were distributed to them. The scheme was launched by DAV College Library which serves to assist and benefit the deserving but financially weak students every year. The books are distributed free of cost keeping in mind their economic status and the marks scored by them in the respective university exams. Principal Dr BB Sharma said, “We try our best that this scheme renders full advantage to able and deserving students and they are able to make optimum use of these books without any financial issues.”

International Tiger Day

Eklavya School celebrated International Tiger Day in the school premises on Friday. Primary students made faces of tigers in their drawing books. They were told about their habitat and surroundings. They were also told about the conservation of the tiger community, as some species of tigers population were becoming extinct. — TNS
