Challenging the investigation of the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate in a case relating to alleged dispute over the famous Haveli restaurant situated on Jalandhar-Phagwara highway, the complainant has knocked the door of the local court for justice.
Acting on the complaint, the court has directed the SHO, police division No. IV, to produce all relevant documents pertaining to the complaint and documents of the inquiry conducted into the case on November 16.
Harish Jain had earlier filed a complaint against his brother Satish Jain, the owner of Haveli restaurant, of committing a fraud in the firm. The inquiry into the allegation was conducted by the ACP Central, DD Sharma, after which the ACP had given a clean chit to Satish and had termed the complaint filed by the Harish as fake. DD Sharma, ACP Central, who had conducted an inquiry into the allegations, in his investigation report (a copy of which is with The Tribune), had made it clear that allegations levelled by Harish against Satish were baseless and he could not produce any documents in support of his claims.
After giving a clean chit to Satish, he had recommended action against Harish under Section 182, IPC, and after seeking approval from the DA (Legal), a report was registered under Section 182, IPC, against Harish. Harish , on Saturday, also addressed a press conference in which he levelled allegations at Congress leader Tajinder Bittu for helping Haveli owner Satish and also influencing the investigation. “I am sure that Bittu is behind the entire episode and he’s the game changer. He’s influencing the police investigation and helping the owner Satish. It was due to Bittu’s intervention that the police gave a clean chit to my brother Satish and also registered a report under section 182 of the IPC against me. Now, I hope the court will deliver justice to me,” Harish Jain told reporters.
Tajinder said Satish was his friend and he had been helping him in a legal and genuine way. “I never influenced any police investigation. Harish is trying to defame me. I tried my level best to seek a compromise between the brothers, but in vain. Let the legal course deliver justice now,” Bittu said. The owner of Haveli didn’t respond to phone calls made.
