Despite her busy schedule, Canadian liberal politician Ruby Sahota, managed to spare a couple of hours to visit her in-laws and spent some time with relatives and family friends there. Ruby received a warm welcome at her in-laws’ place in New Fatehgarh Mohalla in the city.
She stayed there for a few hours and left for Delhi at around 3 in the morning.
On reaching her in-laws’ place she was welcomed by MLA Sunder Sham Arora. Arora said it was a matter of honor for Hoshiarpur that she was serving there as people’s elected representative and was still connected to her roots.
He discussed with her the opportunities for the youth of Punjab. He urged her to help provide better opportunities of education and employment to youth travelling to Canada from Punjab, especially from Hoshiarpur.
MP Ruby Sahota said the visit of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to India would further strengthen the social, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
She also said full information was available on the official website of Canada so people willing to go to Canada should get the information from the website only. They should refrain from consulting the travel agents.
