With an objective to help students in choosing a right career for themselves, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dedicated a link on its website for the post result counselling of the students. With this the students perplexed about making a right career could any time take the help of the website. For helping the students in dealing with the confusion of opting right subjects after the 12th board results, the CBSE has dedicated a link to post-result counselling for such students to aid them in making better choices.
To get their career counselling done, students can click on the link “Looking ahead after XII” on the official CBSE website. In the link, the CBSE has listed all possible options a student can pursue after Class XII, along with the name of the universities, institutions, eligibility criteria and duration of the course. Besides, CBSE affiliated schools have also been advised to conduct counselling for students for facilitating them with each and every career option available in their respective field of interest. In a separate circular, the CBSE has also provided a list of top institutions that the pass out students can opt for pursuing their degrees in their field of interests.
The list of institutions is available for courses varied courses like actuarial science, business management, architecture, advertising, archeology and art restoration, agriculture, anthropology, fashion designing, law, film and TV among others.
Accordingly as the board results have already been announced, so the availability of career counseling link will help students who are still at the crossroads regarding choosing a course for building their future.
The principal of MGN Public School, KS Randhawa, appreciated the move initiated by the board and said: “Although the school had already been conducting counselling sessions regularly for the students of Class XII, the availability of a dedicated link, especially for career counseling would serve the purpose of sinking in the confusions of selecting a right course for them. In addition, this is undoubtedly one of the best initiatives adopted by the CBSE. Students should know that instead of making a mistake right in the beginning of their career, multiple numbers of courses are available with them”.
He also added that not only the students could visit the link on the CBSE website but also the parents of the wards could also login to the website. The students presently studying in Class XII also appreciated the move stated that it certainly help them in pursuing their undergraduation degree.
Rajeev Paliwal, Principal, Innocent Heart School, said, till now we had been conducting counselling sessions, workshops and seminars on a regular basis so that students won’t be left muddled in opting a course for themselves, but now they also have official information regarding selecting right courses after passing out from school.
