Jalandhar, September 24
Surjit Azad, nephew of freedom fighter and martyr, Chandra Shekhar Azad, today sought the resignation of Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal on moral grounds for his inability to tackle the drug menace and for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
He was here to participate in a programme to commemorate Pandit Deendyal Upadhyay’s 100th birth anniversary. Addressing mediapersons, he said he was hurt on observing the present situation in Punjab where great martyrs like Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Kartar Singh Sarabha were born. Family members of other freedom fighters, including Mangal Pandey and Maharana Pratap, also participated in the event. — TNS
