Jalandhar, August 3
The Christian National Front today has demanded that the capital punishment should be abolished in India as 107 countries in the world have already abolished the death sentence.
Lawrence Chaudhary, national president of front, said, “Several atrocities have been made to the minority communities in India, including Christians. Graham Stuart Staines, an Australian Christian Missionary, along with his two children was burnt alive in a car in 1999 in Odisha. Around 4,000 houses belong to the Christian community were burnt few years ago. Many other crimes have been committed against the community so far, yet no strict punishment has been given to them. Therefore the Christian community believes that capital punishment should be abolished.”—TNS
