The song by city lad Bikram Singh, “Iko mera sapna Iko junoon, Mehnata ch lagda aaseena te khoon, Je kuch krna te than I dare, Evi nhi banda koi millionare”, has become a hit on the Youtube as well an Internet sensation these days.
The song that was released a few days ago has set an example that motivational songs, presented in a glamorous and attractive manner, can also be equally popular, going against the pattern of songs pertaining to gun culture, drugs and obscenity.
The song has garnered more than a million views till now and has been appreciated by many prominent personalities of the Punjabi music industry.
Bikram (28), who is the lyricist, actor and singer of the song, is an aspiring Bollywood actor and has already trained himself under the renowned acting guru of B town Kishore Namit Kumar. Born and brought up in the city of artistes and musicians, Bikram always dreamt of associating himself with the world of cinema, and singing happened to him naturally. He has written more than 50 songs and aims to write many more. After working for five years in Dubai, Bikram is currently handling his family business.
Talking to The Tribune, he said he was of the perspective that creativity had no bar and anyone was free to represent whatever he wanted to. But if something creates negativity or has ill- effects in society, it should be curbed. His song is basically about a young successful billionaire man who has achieved his success through a lot of hardships and struggle. The song also depicts that the man has everything, but he is not bothered about it. Rather he is perturbed about his goals and ambitions. Everyday many enticing things and distractions cross him, but he doesn’t want to lose what he has attained.
Meanwhile, many youngsters have appreciated the song and said other aspiring singers and musicians could also achieve fame by presenting more meaningful songs. Sachin Sharma, another city boy who wants to get into industry, said the song was of international level and the lyrics were entirely different from what we usually hear. Today, there is a need for more and more such songs.
Bikram said as his song was all about positivity with a dash of glamour, an industry man also appreciated his song and said that he watched it in the early morning so as to start his day on a constructive note and urged him to make more and more such affirmative and motivational songs.
