Jalandhar, February 28
Jalandhar-based engineering student Jagdeep Sehgal has cracked the PCS exam, securing eighth position in the state. Born and brought up in Jalandhar, 24-year-old Sehgal has studied at the local MGN Public School and pursued engineering in instrumentation and control from the National Institute of Technology.
While he was working with a French company, he did not had adequate time to pursue studies for the civil services exam, which was his ultimate dream.
Quitting his job, he began pursuing MTech in Instrumentation and Control from Panjab University. While his course is still to be completed, he is already on cloud nine with the brilliant results he secured.
He gives credit of his success to his Professor KK Ghai and favourite teacher Sanjeev Gujral.
While his father Tilak Raj Sehgal retired from the post of an ASSO from the Department of Food and Supplies, his mother Satya Sehgal, whom he fondly refers to as the iron-lady, was a headmistress at a government school. Sehgal says it was due to the support and love of his parents that he succeeded.
