City dons patriotic colours, security in place

Tableaux of various departments showcasing different social schemes will be the centre of attraction this year on the Independence Day. During the state-level function, the flag will be hoisted by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Final dress rehearsal was also held for the same. The administration has decided to revive the glorious tradition to present tableaux for highlighting various important schemes of the state government. As many as 10 tableaux will be taken out out by different departments. Several schemes will be showcased that are running under the respective departments started by the state and Central Government.

The school students donning various looks will be seen presenting schemes by the departments.550th celebrations (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) and Ghar Ghar Hariyali scheme will be depicted in the tableau of the forest department and Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner-

Padho Punjab Padhao Punjab will be showcased by the Education Department. The Health Department will be featuring Sarbat Sehat Beema Yojna scheme through its tableau on the Independence Day. Students dressed as the villagers and farmers would be holding the placard with Golden card written on them.

District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE) would be portraying Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojana (MGSVY) schemes, while SSP (Rural) in its tableaux would showcase the anti-drug campaign. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and Smart Village Campaign will be depicted in the tableaus of Assistant Deputy Commissioner (Development) and District Development Program Officer (DDPO).While PSPCL and Co-operative department will save water, save money and Debt Relief scheme, District Agriculture Office will be displaying schemes under Agriculture, horticulture and dairy development in which the message of crop diversification will be given too. 

‘Surakshit kheti apnao, Ghat zamneen to vadd labh kamao’ is one of the several messages that will be conveyed through tableau. District Programme Office will be displaying Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. Smart city and Urban Environment improvement programme will be presented by the Municipal Corporation department. CEO Smart City and Commissioner Municipal Corporation are heading the preparations of the respective tableau.
