Aiming to bridge the gap between the public and their respective MPs, the Digital Nirman Society on Tuesday launched 545 web portals for each Member of Parliament (MP) across the nation.
All portals have been designed by city-based entrepreneurSandeep Kumar Gupta, founder and director of Sakaar Microsolutions Pvt Ltd, and also the president of the NGO named Digital Nirman Society, under which the portals will be run and monitored by a team of IT experts.
Addressing mediapersons, Sandeep Gupta said, “The main motive behind the development of the portals is to bring transparency to the Indian parliamentary system. As the 2019 Lok Sabha elections are approaching, the portals are going to prove beneficial to common masses to approach and get in touch with their MPs.”
“In this digital era, when almost every person is shifting online, all services from education, shopping, entertainment, and work is available online, then why not the political system? People these days are frustrated with age-old rigid political set-up and itslack of connectivity in the technology-driven society where people are even not connected with their leaders and are least known about their identity.”
On accessing the portal, Gupta said, “The users can open the individual portal by opening respective MP< Constituency >.com web address. Like if you are looking for MP in Jalandhar, you have to type -mpjalandhar.com, if MP in Varanasi then- mpvaranasi.com, mpamethi.com etc. and they can send suggestions, feedbacks along with complaints, queries or any other problem.”
Apart from communication facility, there will be constituency-related map search facility given, through which different category of places can be searched along with Google map, he added.
Giving the background details and idea behind coming up with this project of portals, Sandeep told, “A survey was conducted by Digital Nirman Society before we decided to develop these portals, where we found that most of the people even don’t know their political leader name.” He also said even most of the people voted for their leaders in elections with the party name.
“So to overcome all these hurdles and establish a bridge to fill the gap between the MP and public, we develop these portals.” he added.
He also added later that, “Technically, these portals are designed with a mobile-friendly user interface and facility to share the opinions with OTP-based post submission.”
