A law graduate from GNDU’s region campus in Jalandhar, Srishti Arora (24), has been selected as Law Officer in Judge Advocate General Branch of India Army.
There were only four vacancies in women category for the post in the country and Srishti Arora was placed at the third position.
Speaking to Jalandhar Tribune, she said that she has done her BA LLB (Hons) with above 80 per cent mark from GNDU’s regional campus and was pursuing LLM in criminal law.
Daughter of an event planner at MK Crockery— Tent and Decorator, Srishti said the credit of the achievement goes to her parents, who supported her unconditionally at every stage of life.
“I always wanted Class I job and a lifestyle that the Army Officers lead. My father also motivated me a lot to join the Army. Lt Col Navdeep Singh Sandhu provided me with huge support and guidance on the same,” she said.
Srishti said, “After preparing myself, I applied for Short Service Commission in Indian Army. The test was conducted by Service Selection Board (SSB). It was not so easy to get into it as I had to pass several processes of the selection, including mental and physical aptitude. After the IQ tests, a psychological tests plus interview lasted for about 45-50 minutes. The ground tasks contained Individual obstacles, group obstacle, and race. I was declared medically fit in other processes.”
Srishti said, “I will be sent for one year training at Officer’s Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. And after that I will be commissioned as Lieutenant. I am so excited for this journey.”
