City woman is ‘Mrs India most popular’, bags two other titles

Jalandhar, December 29

Geetanjali Bhagat (30), a city resident, has won three titles at the ‘Mrs India Beauty Queen Pageant’ held at Zirakpur from December 21 to 23 organised by Arvind Jolly, BHS Entertainment and Hollywood Creations.

Geetanjali was adjudged ‘Mrs India Most Popular 2018’. She also bagged the titles of ‘Mrs Jalandhar Beauty Queen and Mrs India Best Catwalk’.

Born in Punjab, Geetanjali, a resident of Bhagat Market, completed her studies in Arts and at present working as a general manager at a private institute.

Talking to the Jalandhar Tribune, she said although she was passionate about beauty contests during her college days, but didn’t intend to take up fashion or modelling as a career. It was all by chance that she had won three titles. She has decided to pursue modelling and fashion as her career.

“I am already getting offers for showstopper for various events. I was earlier interested in singing. I participated in the ‘Awaaz Punjab Di’ singing competition and cleared four rounds, but due to some health issues she was unable to compete it till the finals,” she added.

Geetanjali said a total of 25 participants from across the state participated in the context.

She also encouraged other married women to participate in these events. She said such events provided a platform, where married women would have the opportunity to make a difference in the world.

“This platform hopes to empower women and enrich opportunities for personal growth. It will also inspire women from diverse backgrounds and cultures to come together and to uplift those in need and develop a sense of global responsibility,” she added.

Geetanjali attributes her success to her family and husband for supporting and believing in her capabilities.
