Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla on Thursday inspected the Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Civil Hospital and checked the treatment facilities for the patients admitted in the surgical ward (male-female) and the burn ward (male-female).
Dr Chawla directed the hospital staff to ensure that each patient was well attended and received proper treatment. She asked staff to inform the patients and their families about AB-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana so that they could take benefit of the scheme. The Civil Surgeon said under the scheme, cashless treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh was being offered in 34 hospitals, including 14 government health institutions, to the beneficiaries.
She said under the scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) families as per Socio-Economic Caste Census (2011), Blue Cardholder families, farmers who have been issued J-Forms by the Punjab Mandi Board and their family members, traders registered with the Excise and Taxation Department and construction workers registered with the construction workers’ welfare board and all journalists accredited to the state government or holding yellow cards were eligible and could avail of the benefits.
Meanwhile, she said if the hospital needed any kind of medical equipment, they could give her a written request immediately so that action could be taken accordingly.
Dr Chawla directed the hospital staff to maintain cleanliness in the hospital and potable water must be provided to patients and their families.
