Jalandhar, October 10
The city has been chosen to hold the International Conference on Sleep Disorder (ICSD-2017) by the South East Asian Academy of Sleep Medicine (SEASM).
The event will be held from October 27 to 29. It will provide evidence-based multidisciplinary approach and education to advance the science and clinical practice of sleep medicine.
While talking to Jalandhar Tribune, organising chairman of the ICSD, Dr HJ Singh, said sleep medicine in South East Asia was rapidly changing its trend from being hardly known and unrecognised to a multidisciplinary evidence-based medicine.
“Due to our changing lifestyle, which is more dependent on gadgets such as smart phones and computers, there has been a huge rise in the diseases pertaining to sleep disorders. Apart from that, allergies, flu and upper respiratory infections also amount to some serious disorders,” said Dr Singh. — TNS
