Shaheed Baba Mati Memorial Football Tournament today commenced at Droli Kalan village today. In the first round, Damunda village defeated Rampur Sunra village while Chuharwali defeated Kishan Garh. Also, Football Club, Adampur, defeated Daroli Kalan. The final match will be played on August 27. Apart from football, competition of various other sports including kabaddi, athletics and volleyball will also be held during the tournament.
T-20 underway
Amandeep Cricket Academy (ACA) is organising the first ever All-India Day and Night Annual T-20 Cricket Championship in Amritsar from August 21 to 28. The T-20 championship is a continuation of the annual series initiated in 2014. The tournament will see the participation of eight teams, including Air India, Food Corporation of India (FCI), Minerva Academy, Friends Club, Delhi, Kishanganj Gymkhana, Delhi, OP Rathi Club, Indoasia, and the local team of ACA who are Punjab Ranji players. The first match is being held daily between 4pm to 7pm followed by the second match played between 8pm to 11pm.
