Date for filing property tax now till Mar 31

The state government has once again extended last date of property tax payment without penalty till March 31.

“The Local Bodies Department has extended the last date to file the property tax after availing the benefit of rebate and outstanding house tax sans interest till March 31 this year,” said an official spokesperson.

In the wake of hardships faced by the residents, the state government has also decided to further streamline the procedure for filing property tax. The Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar has recently opened seven felicitation windows, including two at the MC office. The MCJ has issued an appeal in public interest to generate awareness amongst the citizen to enable them to file the property and house tax within the extended time limit.—TNS
