Kulwant and Mahal asked circle revenue officers and police officers to remain in field for tackling any emergency. They said any laxity in these works would not be tolerated at any cost. They also asked block development and panchayat officers (BDPOs) to be vigilant in villages. Arrangements must be made in such a manner that if any pumping of water was required, the BDPOs must do it at the panchayat level.

Both officials said the Drainage Department must ensure adequate number of JCB machines at their disposal for tackling any urgency. Sandbags should also be arranged in a large number to deal with situation arising out of excess water and directed police and civil officers to jointly identify rehabilitation centres in areas affected by downpour/floods.
