Declamation contest

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, made a mark of excellence in declamation contest organised by Rotary Club, Jalandhar, on September 9. On being asked to declaim on the topics like 'Terrorism: A Global Challenge' and 'Challenges of the Cyber World', Gehna Kundra of BCom Semester I and Ria Sharma of BA Semester I showcased their laudable oratory. Both bagged the individual prizes of best declaimers and the College bags the winner trophy. Dr Sucharita, principal, lauded the efforts of the students and congratulated the teachers on the success.

IT fest

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, organised an IT fest 'Gopher@16'. On the occasion, various competitions like logical testing, logo making, technology tracing, best out of waste, quiz infotainment ride, group dance and ad-mad show were conducted. Over 291 participants registered for various competitions. In the logical testing 83 students participated while in the group dance 87 students gave presentations. The next favourite was technology tracing in which 58 students participated. 19 students went for the best out of waste competition while 15 from KMV Kaushal Kendra participated in the logo making competition. The ad-mad show competition had 17 participants while 12 went for quiz. Principal Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the organisers for creating a festive spirit in learning and making gaining information a fun. She said it was important to make the students enjoy the process of learning so that they stuck to it for sheer pleasure.

KCL-IMT

The IT club of KCL-IMT conducted Tech Whiz - I 2016 to test and enhance technical skills of the students. There were four events- paper presentation, web spidey, LAN gaming and quiz. Ramanpreet Kohli, HoD, IT department, was invited from LKCW for commencing the event. She was welcomed with a bunch of flowers by Dr SK Sood, Kamal Nain Sharma and Tarun Arora. The participants got an opportunity to enhance their varied skills.

Red Day

Colours give charm to our life. Red colour is a blend of happiness and brightness. So to make the students aware of the importance of red colour in their life State Public School, Jalandhar Cant,  celebrated Red Day for classes Nursery to UKG on the school premises. Tiny-tots were beautifully attired in red colour. They learnt the value of red colour as it is a symbol of energy and enthusiasm. 

Canadian varsity head visits Pyramid College

Ravi Philips, head, international marketing, University of Fraser Valley, Canada visited Pyramid College of Business and Technology, Phagwara. Bhavnoor Singh Bedi, vice-president, and Dr Rachit Garg, director, extended a floral welcome to the guest. Ravi Philip had an interactive session with the students and faculty about next plan for scholarship and collaborative programs. —TNS
