Demonetisation: Merits, demerits discussed at college

Phagwara, November 18

In the wake of demonetisation of Rs 500 and 1,00 curency notes by the Central Government and confusion that surrounds it, a PowerPoint Presentation on the issue was presented by Dr Anita Gogna, Head, Department of Economics, Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara. The presentation was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for the staff of the college.

While giving the presentation, Dr Gogna gave an elaborate account of the move and reasons behind taking the step.

She also talked about advantages and disadvantages of the move for the Indian economy. The presentation was followed by a discussion in which Dr Gogna answered queries of staff members.

Principal of the college Dr Kiran Walia said the purpose of the presentation was to remove doubts and anxiety of the staff members. The entire staff of the college was present.
