Digital exhibition main attraction at Sultanpur Lodhi

Highlighting the three prime teachings of Guru Nanak Dev — ‘Naam japo’, ‘Kirt karo’ and Vand Chhako — in a 3D revolving theatre, the exhibition organised by the Bureau of Field Outreach and Communication, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has become the centre of attraction in Sultanpur Lodhi. Various illustrations related to the Sikh Guru’s life have been displayed at the exhibition using technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), hologram and 3D picturisation.

Officials quoted, it was rather a multimedia exhibition in which portraits of the Guru were displayed using digital technologies. The revolving theatre, with a capacity of 70-80 people, displayed the ‘four Udasis’ of Guru Nanak using the animation concept, incorporated with 3D technology only.

Giving a live experience of the langar sewa using technology, two ‘ VR Langar’ play stations have been installed in the exhibition, which are giving 3D exposure of the langar seva to visitors. Himansh, the operation executive of the VR langar show craft, said, he was working on the technology-driven game.

Several DSLR cameras have been placed at a corner that are capturing single rotating picture of visitors from every angle, depicting the message, “ 550 saal, Guru de nal’. The organisers said the images would be be mailed to the visitors, soon after these were were clicked. The hologram display of Guru Nanak Dev giving 3D illusion also attracted the visitors.

One of the members of the managing team, Keshav, said for the first time, some of the unseen images of Guru Nanak Dev, taken from the SGPC, were also displayed at the exhibition.

In addition, challenging the knowledge of the devotees related to teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, digital quizzes and puzzles have also been set up. Keshav said 32 historic gurdwaras, beginning from Nankana Sahib, have also been exhibited. — TNS
