Doc suggests genetic test with IVF

Jalandhar: OIVF expert Dr Preeti Jindal of Mohali claims to have come up with a new technique - Pre-implantation genetic screening (PGS) that helps attain a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby by implanting only the healthiest embryos. Dr Jindal said, “In vitro fertilisation (IVF) or test tube baby is becoming a very helpful method to give happiness of parenthood to infertile couples. Despite best drugs, equipments and centers, the success rate still lingers around 30-40 per cent. The main reason for it is genetically abnormal embryo.” TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
