Drawing competition held to mark Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Jalandhar, July 31

In a special drive towards creating a clean and green India, a drawing competition was organised at the Army Public School, Jalandhar Cantonment by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd here today to mark the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and make the students aware about the need to keep the surroundings clean.

As many 450 students of the school participated in the drawing competition. The students were told to draw on the theme of a ‘Clean and green India’. Also, they were made aware about cleanliness and greenery under the Swachhta Fortnight.

The top five drawings made by the students were also awarded special gifts by Ashish Verma, Deputy Manager Sales (HPCL), principal Mandeep Kaur and Monty Sehgal.

Pamphlets regarding quality and quantity checks to be done at the petrol pumps were also distributed to the management and students of the school to spread awareness among the consumers to maintain cleanliness on roads and in other areas. Addressing the students, Ashish Verma said this type of social programme to save the environment and to make contribution towards cleanliness should be organised timely to acknowledge the contribution of students in this regard.
