Drug menace: Informer to get Rs 10,000 reward

To curb the drug menace, the Block Congress Committee, Phagwara, led by Joginder Singh Mann, former Minister Punjab and veteran Congress leader has decided to felicitate any person who would extend a tip off about drug peddlers with a cash reward of Rs 10,000.

A resolution to this effect was passed today by the Block Congress Committee here during a meeting.

Divulging the details, the Block Congress Committee president Daljeet Singh Raju said: “Under the leadership of Joginder Singh Mann, the party workers are committed for wean out the drug menace from the assembly segment.”

“The information could be given on the mobile phones of Mann 9855300813, Raju’s 9878206300, president of Block Congress Committee, Urban, Sanjeev Bugga 9814062386, Superintendent of Police, Phagwara 9815600840 and Deputy Superintendent of Police 7973617460.

Raju said: “The credentials of the informer will be kept as secret.” Lauding the efforts being made by the state government, led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to make the state free from the drug menace, Raju said: “For the first time in the state a massive campaign has been launched to eliminate the drug menace completely.”

“While the supply line of the drugs has been snapped in the state a campaign has also been launched to sensitise the people on this issue,” he added,
