Eight principals, 7 DEOs shifted

Eight principals and seven District Education Officers (DEOs), of different districts, have been posted at various areas of the state in the general transfers announced by the Education Department here on Tuesday.

DEO (Elementary) from Firozpur, Moga, Bathinda, SBS Nagar, Mansa, Kapurthala and Sangrur have been transferred to different districts, while some have been assigned the charge of principal and others will continue as DEO’s.

From the Jalandhar district, principal of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden, Gurinderjit Kaur, has been transferred to Kapurthala as District Education Officer (Elementary).

Vinod Kumar, DEO (elementary), SBS Nagar, has been transferred to Gurdaspur with the same designation. Gurcharan Singh, DEO (Elementary), Kapurthala, will take over the charge as DEO (Elementary), Jalandhar.

Jagroop Singh, principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Khanpur (Sangrur), has been transferred to Kapurthala. He will take over the charge against the vacant post of District Education Officer (Secondary). Rajesh Kumar, principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Dhira (Pathankot), has been given the charge of DEO (Elementary) in place of Vinod Kumar.

The principals and DEO’s are expected to join their new schools and stations as soon as possible, as the regular studies in the schools are going on.
