Jalandhar, March 31
Owing to an internal rumbling, the entire MGN Educational Trust and the school management committee of the aided MGN schools tendered their resignation.
The note along with resignation copy which was circulated to the media mentioned that the decision had been taken “to satisfy the inflated ego of one person who is bent upon terminating the services of Gunmeet Kaur, principal MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, Jalandhar”.
The MGN Educational Trust came into existence in 1922 with Gobind Singh Pasricha, Hukam Singh and Gian Singh Rai as the founders. Its present secretary J S Pasricha has been a member of Sri Guru Singh Sabha since 1961, which was subsequently rechristened as Montgomery Guru Nanak Educational Trust in 1974. He has also been the secretary of MGN Educational Trust since 1979.
According to JS Pasricha, when he took over as the secretary of the Trust, it was in debt of about 5 lakh and the pay to the staff was not paid for 15-16 months at a stretch. “With efforts, the trust was out of the red within few years. With the saving made in subsequent years, the Trust was able to open two more schools, one at Kapurthala in 1994 and another at Urban Estate in 2004”, he wrote on Saturday.
His note ended with best wishes to all the schools and prayer that the schools do not suffer under the new administration.
