The Jalandhar Commissionerate today booked Ambika Forging’s owner’s son for alleged trespass and injuring an industrialist at the focal point area here.
The incident occurred when a team of the sales tax department was checking records at the industry.
Sources said the sales tax team had conducted a raid at Viraaj Handtool industry at the focal point to check their records. The raid was reportedly conducted on the complaint of some industrialists who told the sales tax department that anomalies in records could be found if the department conducted a raid there to check the records.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when the sales tax team was checking records at Viraaj Handtool Industry. Suddenly, Ambika Forging owner Mankaran’s son Randhir Bhandari entered the industry premises and started arguments with some people present there.
He allegedly misbehaved with the owner of Viraaj industry Vinod Kumar Talwar. When the latter protested, Randhir hit Vinod with an iron rod on his head and the latter sustained head injuries.
The victim was immediately taken to hospital, where he was undergoing treatment till the filing of this report.
On the complaint of industrialist Vinod, the police division No. 8 had registered a case under Section 452 (trespassing), 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC against Randhir Bhandari. As per the police, raids were being conducted to nab the accused industrialist.
