Flesh trade rackets busted

The police division No. 5 today busted two sex rackets being run from Geeta Colony here. Thirteen persons, including four women and nine men, were nabbed in this connection. The nabbed persons also include a serving Army sepoy.
The police had received information that a brothel house was being run at two houses in the locality and, accordingly, separate raids were conducted and the persons were caught red handed.
In the first case, six persons were nabbed namely Mukesh Singh, serving sepoy in military hospital, Jalandhar, Murari of Bhargo Camp, Kapil Money of Geeta Colony, Dalip Ram of Bhargo Camp, Anita, alias Preeti, of Geeta Colony and Pooja of Geeta Colony.
The police said the racket was being run by a woman Preeti and her husband Kapil. The duo had been running a brothel in their house for the past few months and had also been supplying girls to the clients. The nabbed sepoy of the military hospital had no direct role in the racket, but had gone to the brothel as a client.
In the second case, seven persons were nabbed by the police. They include Dharminder Gill of the Kacha Kot area, Sanjiv Kumar, alias Ajay, of Ishwar Nagar, Gagan of Deep Nagar, Amit Kumar of Jaina Nagar, Raman Kumar of Kacha Kot, Kames Rani of Geeta Colony and Jyoti of Geeta Colony here.
All have been booked under Section 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Trafficking Act.
