Jalandhar, August 30
Four devotees died and three were injured after their vehicle met with an accident on the NH-205 near the Gambhar bridge on the Chandigarh-Manali highway while on their way to Manikaran. They were heading to Manikaran Sahib after paying obeisance at Anandpur Sahib. All of them were the residents of Saiflabad and Faizlabad in Kapurthala.
While the three injured persons have been admitted to a hospital at Swarghat, they were later referred to Nalagarh after their health deteriorated. The accident happened when the TATA Sumo car they were travelling in rammed into a tree on the route.
The deceased have been identified as Seetal Singh (60) and Sukhdev Singh (50) of Saiflabad village and Sukhwinder Singh Sukkha and Gurdeep Singh of Fazlabad village under Fattu Dhinga police station in Kapurthala. Meanwhile, the injured have been identified as Kashmir Singh (60), Jeet Singh (50) and Santokh Singh (60) of Fazlabad village. The bodies of the deceased are expected to be brought back on Friday.
Kulwinder Singh, brother of Seetal Singh, a resident of Saiflabad village, said, “A group of men from our village left for Manikaran Sahib at 9 am. We received the information this evening that four of them died near Bilaspur. The police have also told us that three of them are alive. Though they are yet to contact us.” — TNS
