Asserting that sleep disorders could be fatal, the Punjab Governor, VP Singh Badnore, today called upon the medical fraternity to undertake extensive research in this diverse field to facilitate the humanity.
Addressing the gathering during the third International Conference of Sleep Disorders here today, the Governor said from the upper surface this appeared to be a normal subject, but in reality, it concerns every human being.
He said the sleep disorder, if not treated timely, could be very harmful. Badnore said efforts must be made to make a common person aware of the fact that how much sleep was required for sound health.
The Governor said it was a great pleasure for him to address the distinguished luminaries participating in the convention.
In his address Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh said the organiser of the event Dr HJ Singh has a proven track record of organising such events to make the public aware of such fatal diseases.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Praveen Kumar Sinha were also present on the occasion.
