Nawanshahr, November 4
The Green Valley Stevia of Banga, has again received the Agribusiness Award for promoting stevia in the country during a four-day event – the Agro World 2018 organised by the Indian Food and Agriculture Council at New Delhi on October 24.
The four-day event included Global Agricultural Leadership Summit, World Agriculture Prize, Swaminathan Global Dialogue on Climate Change and Food security and Agri Startups Convention, etc, which was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh.
The award was presented to Amandeep Singh Gandhi on behalf of founder of the company Rajpal Singh Gandhi on the third day of the event on October 27.
Rajpal Singh Gandhi, founder and director, Green Valley Stevia Farms said, “Stevia sweetener is a much healthier alternative to sugarcane-based sweetener ensuring good health of the countrymen. Stevia has the potential to improve the livelihood of the farmers and putting an end to the continuous low economic growth resulting in suicides by the farmers.”
He further said, “This is the second time that Green valley has received this award. Earlier in 2014, Dr MS Swaminathan awarded Green Valley farms National award for promoting stevia in the country.” — TNS
